According to Laura Ingraham’s E-Blast that I posted, she states that Obama made that statement, “…as a fellow citizen of the world…”

I have been thinking about it and even went back and reread her blog. The question kept popping up in my head: Is Obama running for president of the USA or president of the World. I thought that was a rather silly question on my part, however, it keeps lingering on my mind.

I thought, what a scary thought! Now why would I think that? Maybe because I am familiar with the well known work of Nastradamus. It stands to reason, that could be influencing my thought process. Whatever the reason, I still think that statement needs to be processed in the minds of all Americans. Did he mean that each individual country has their own citizens, and we should come together with that understanding in mind. Or did he mean, and is it his intent, that all countries will come under one world power.

Definitely food for thought for me. As crazy as it may sound to most Americans, maybe it deserves some of our attention. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like war and I always hope for peaceful existence, but

I do not believe that it would be in our best interest to have one powerful man running our world

This is posted as humor, but the TITLE is not meant to be humorous.
The Title is a FACT.

“An atheist was taking a walk through the woods. “What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!” he said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look and saw a 7 foot grizzly bear charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing in on him. He looked over his shoulder again and the bear was even closer. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him.

At that instant the Atheist cried out to the Lord. Time stopped, the bear froze, the forest was silent. A bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky, “You deny my existence for all of these years, teach others I don’t exist, and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?”

The atheist looked directly into the light, “It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps could you make the BEAR a Christian?”

“Very well,” said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And then the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together and bowed his head and spoke:

“Lord, bless this food, which I am about to receive through Christ our Lord, Amen.”

Moral of the story…no matter what your beliefs are, be careful what you ask for.

“EUROPE FAWNS, AMERICA YAWNS: The political transformation is underway. The world is hungry for change … or maybe it’s just a bunch of screaming Germans hungry for sausages and beer.

Make no mistake: Barack Obama’s speech in Berlin’s Tiergarten park was one of the most revealing and, frankly, terrifying moments of the campaign so far. We witnessed a man who may very well be the next president of the United States APOLOGIZE to a bunch of foreigners for his own country’s failings! He told the crowd of 200,000 that he addressed them “as a fellow citizen of the world” and then dropped this bomb: “I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we’ve struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We’ve made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.”

Apparently lost on Obama and the crowd was the incredible irony that a Nazi flag would be flying over Berlin at this very moment if it weren’t for the sacrifices made by the United States and our allies in WWII; hundreds of thousands of Americans died to liberate Europe and prevent the spread of tyranny around the world.

The crowd, of course, was enthralled with the speech. But there’s a very simple reason why Obama’s been received like a rock star everywhere he goes in Europe: the European people have no desire to see America remain the world’s number one power!

Here’s the bottom line: The United States can’t afford a commander-in-chief who travels to other countries with his hat in his hand and begs for some understanding. We need a president who will stand up for America, not apologize on her behalf. And if Obama had no qualms about delivering this speech to the European public, what’s to stop him from doing it in private with Ahmadinejad in Iran?

Say goodbye to America, the superpower; say hello to America, the good global citizen.

Many people misunderstood this post below…this was simply a reply to an email I had received. It was not meant, on my part, to equate the word Change with the reality of Obama’s intended Change.

This ‘Misunderstood Post’ that had nothing to do with Obama and ‘ALL’ to do with Bush’s 8 years.
Okay, I admit it! This has my hair standing up…All 16 inches of it!

I woke up to this email this morning. Don’t get me wrong, I have and will continue to welcome pros and cons for each political candidate. Whether it is from my family, friends, acquaintances, and even the news media. I have made it very clear during this election process that I want to know, and I will read, listen, and do my research so that I will have as much information as possible before I make my decision.

The email started out to say, “Like him or not……George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.”

I most certainly do not share this view. Maybe my mind was tainted toward the Bush family when I recall what I saw with my own eyes. I am referring to the Bush vs. Gore election year. The Bush family received the news of the Florida election issue; they got up and left the building, and then everything about that election started to stink to high heaven. Don’t waste your breath even attempting to challenge me on that fact.

NO, I did not say that “Elvis” left the building, I said, the “Bush Clan” left the building.
And while I am thinking about it, I want to ask just what these underlying suggestions are about; that Bush may have the option of cancelling the 2008 election if a ‘unique war situation’ should occur. I sure hope that was just a nightmare! But why those suggestive words would enter my dreams is beyond me.

Also, as I recall, aside from Bill Clinton’s so called “zipper problems”, our nation’s economy was riding in the black and doing just fine when Bush took office.

So when I read the next part of this email I had received, it stated, “A little over one year ago: 1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 yr. high; 2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon; 3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%; 4) the DOW JONES hit a record high–14,000 + 5) Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacationing overseas, living large!…”

Well, it seems to me that Bush was riding the coat tails of what Bill Clinton’s administration had accomplished. I am not Democrat or Republican; I am just stating what I believe to be a fact.

Then the email went on to say, “But Americans wanted ‘CHANGE’! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep–we got ‘CHANGE’ all right!….. 1) Consumer confidence has plummeted; 2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon and climbing;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase); 4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices are still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure; and, 6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~11,300–$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!”

What? This is all blamed on the Democratic Congress? I wonder how they managed to do all that by themselves. Don’t you think that you are giving the Democratic Congress a bit too much credit!

I guess the “Oil CEO’s and ‘Any Other Greedy-Dishonest-Corporates’” were taking a long extended vacation down in the Bahamas enjoying their “full, Hulk-Sized suitcase wallets”. And of course the whole political arena was on vacation with them. Heck, they don’t own any blame because they were out of the country, playing chess on the beach, using the American people as their ‘profit pawns’. As for their profit gains (profit or otherwise), that would have just been their hourly allowances for their daily, insignificant, kick around money.

We don’t have time right now to discuss all the other issues that are involved in the ignorant statements made within this email I received. Let us just say that dishonest, self-indulgent people, holding powerful positions have contributed to the mess we are in today and have obviously considered the American people to be ‘STUPID’. We need to stop blaming the Republicans and Democrats as a ‘whole’, and start looking at the individual culprits. And then hold those culprits accountable in what used to be known as an ‘honest’ justice system. Now that is another issue we don’t have time to go into right now either…’Dishonest-Conflicts of Interest’ within the justice system.

The email continued on, “YEP, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE! AND WE SURE GOT IT!!! NOW ‘BO’, the DEM.’S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT–AND THE POLLS SAY HE’S GONNA BE ‘THE MAN’–CLAIMS HE’S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!….JUST HOW MUCH MORE ‘CHANGE’ DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???…..”

Hey, wait a minute, I didn’t say that! It’s within quotes! An unknown author that I have given credit to for his or her words. I do think it is a very misguided statement.

I can rest assured, speaking for myself, that BOTH 2008 candidates will have their day at those “Pearly Gates”. And I believe that Bush already has a standing reservation: Bush will have his turn standing before our “heavenly power”, explaining himself. But he won’t be alone. He won’t be the only one that will have to answer for all the dishonest, and greedy deeds, DONE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

According to Reader’s Digest, Discovering America’s Past, “Alexander Graham Bell’s coherent telephone message…was in fact a cry for help…” “An accidental splash of acid prompted Alexander Graham Bell to make the first phone call, which his assistant, Tom Watson, answered by rushing in from a room down the hall.”

The invention of the telephone first appeared in the 1870’s. While visiting the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition of 1876, the emperor of Brazil, Dom Pedro II, placed the receiver to his ear and was treated to Bell’s recitation of Hamlet’s “To be or not to be” soliloquy. Delighted and astonished, Dom Pedro exclaimed, “It talks!”

Critics questioned its practicality and some saw it as a scientific toy. In order for Bell to marry Mabel, and receive his future father-in-law’s blessing, Bell and Watson embarked on a demonstration tour. Alexander Graham Bell, in Salem, Massachusetts, 1877, using leased or loaned telegraph wires for connection, sat on stage, while Watson was stationed miles away. After Watson’s introduction and shouted greetings, Watson received thunderous ovations for his repertoire of song, which included Yankee Doodle, Hold the Fort, and a favorite, Do Not Trust Him, Gentle Lady.

THE LEICA FREEDOM TRAIN

The Leica is the pioneer 35mm camera. It is a German product – precise, minimalist, and utterly efficient. Behind its worldwide acceptance as a creative tool was a family-owned, socially oriented firm that, during the Nazi era, acted with uncommon grace, generosity and modesty.
E. Leitz Inc., designer and manufacturer of Germany’s most famous photographic product, saved its Jews.

And Ernst Leitz II, the steely eyed Protestant patriarch who headed the closely held firm as the Holocaust loomed across Europe, acted in such a way as to earn the title, ‘the photography industry’s Schindler.’

The ‘Leica Freedom Train’ As soon as Adolf Hitler was named chancellor of Germany in 1933, Ernst Leitz II began receiving frantic calls from Jewish associates, asking for his help in getting them and their families out of the country. As Christians, Leitz and his family were immune to Nazi Germany’s Nuremberg laws, which restricted the movement of Jews and limited their professional activities.

To help his Jewish workers and colleagues, Leitz quietly established what has become known among historians of the Holocaust as ‘the Leica Freedom Train,’ a covert means of allowing Jews to leave Germany in the guise of Leitz employees being assigned overseas.

Employees, retailers, family members, even friends of family members were ‘assigned’ to Leitz sales offices in France, Britain, Hong Kong and the United States. Leitz’s activities intensified after the Kristallnacht of November 1938, during which synagogues and Jewish shops were burned across Germany.

Before long, German ‘employees’ were disembarking from the ocean liner Bremen at a New York pier and making their way to the Manhattan office of Leitz Inc., where executives quickly found them jobs in the photographic industry. Each new arrival had around his or her neck the symbol of freedom – a new Leica.

The refugees were paid a stipend until they could find work. Out of this migration came designers, repair technicians, salespeople, marketers and writers for the photographic press.

Keeping the story quiet The ‘Leica Freedom Train’ was at its height in 1938 and early 1939, delivering groups of refugees to New York every few weeks. Then, with the invasion of Poland on Sept. 1, 1939, Germany closed its borders. By that time, hundreds of endangered Jews had escaped to America, thanks to the Leitzes’ efforts.

How did Ernst Leitz II and his staff get away with it? Leitz Inc. was an internationally recognized brand that reflected credit on the newly resurgent Reich. The company produced range-finders and other optical systems for the German military. Also, the Nazi government desperately needed hard currency from abroad, and Leitz’s single biggest market for optical goods was the United States.

Even so, members of the Leitz family and firm suffered for their good works A top executive, Alfred Turk, was jailed for working to help Jews and was freed only after the payment of a large bribe.

Leitz’s daughter, Elsie Kuhn-Leitz, was imprisoned by the Gestapo after she was caught at the border, helping Jewish women cross into Switzerland. She eventually was freed but endured rough treatment in the course of questioning. She also fell under suspicion when she attempted to improve the living conditions of 700 to 800 Ukrainian slave laborers, all of them women, who had been assigned to work in the plant during the 1940s.

(After the war, Kuhn-Leitz received numerous honors for her humanitarian efforts, among them the Officier d’honneur des Palms Academic from France in 1965 and the Aristide Briand Medal from the European Academy in the 1970s.)

Why has no one told this story until now? According to the late Norman Lipton, a freelance writer and editor, the Leitz family wanted no publicity for its heroic efforts. Only after the last member of the Leitz family was dead did the ‘Leica Freedom Train’ finally come to light. It is now the subject of a book, ‘The Greatest Invention of the Leitz Family:

The Leica Freedom Train,’ by Frank Dabba Smith, a California-born Rabbi currently living in England.

Frederic S. Klein, NHS member, just received a brochure announcing the publication of a historical project. The whispers in the Historical Times office have become a reality. The fascinating reality is a series called THE IMAGE OF WAR, 1861-1865. The first volume of that series is to be known as “Shadows of the Storm”.

The secret was maintained over a six-year span of time while William Davis, NHS President, maintained sudden expeditions to far away places, only to return with a secretive nature, leading one to suspect the discovery of sunken treasures.

Klein is amazed that these treasures were found to be pictorial, and definitely were located in remote and unsuspected locations.

A friend brought this to my attention suggesting “Food For Thought”

“…There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January.
That’s just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn’t have started this war, state the following:
a. FDR led us into World War II.
b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost. an average of 112,500 per year.
c.. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.
d. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.
e. Johnson turned Vietnam in to a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost … an average of 5,800 per year.
f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden’s head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing.
Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
g. In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.
The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking.

1. It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation..
2. We’ve been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
3. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
4. It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!

JOHN GLENN (on the Senate floor – January 26, 2004)
Some people still don’t understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it’s also a good example of one man’s explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living.
This is a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military.
Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
‘How can you run for Senate when you’ve never held a real job?’
Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):

A True American’s Message

As Americans, this can’t be said any better or clearer. The author is unknown, but should be commended!

“…Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians’.

‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom’. ‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, “Learn the language!”

‘Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’

‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.’
