Politicians

Homeless vs Politician
by bardnsage

A homeless person is far more preferred than a politician.

The homeless man asks for your money, the politician does not ask.

The homeless man shares his bottle, the politician does not, he makes you share your bottle.

The homeless man knows exactly what is important to him, and will you tell you honestly what that is,,, the politician, does not know honesty without a poll.

The homeless man works around the reality of society, the politician alters society to work around him.

The homeless man treasures every moment without fear, or hunger, or pain,,, the politician causes fear, hunger, and pain, so he can claim there is no fear, hunger, and pain. (don’t let a crisis go to waste)

The homeless man thanks you for a blanket, the politician steals your blanket so he can get the thanks.

The homeless man finds value is the left overs of society, the politician makes sure there are no left overs.

A homeless man will eat for $2.00,,, the politician spends 10 million dollars on a soup kitchen and then cuts funding on bread to balance the budget.

A homeless man is forced by the police to walk across town to the shelter,,, until a politician sends 4 volunteers with wine money and a charter bus to bring him to the polls.. .

A homeless man needs food, water, medicine, and a safe place to sleep,,, a politician gives him a comb and a razor.

The homeless man wants my change,,,, the politician wants my dollars so he can make change,, ,that never comes.

Congress should be required to give up their present medical health care, and in their place, our Veterans, Soldiers and Military families should have the medical benefits that the Congress and other governmental officials are now enjoying.

The Time Is NOW! Please PASS this on!!

Put your organization together and put forth an Addendum-Bill to be added to the FINAL Health Care Reform Bill:

Your organizations must use the proper Format and Steps required to present the Addendum-Bill. Do your research.

The Addendum-Bill will state that:

All of Congress and any other government official will be required to give up their present, government-health-care-benefits, to our Veterans, and U.S. Soldiers, and Military families.

Those government officials may then have the option to find their own health insurance, or they may “PAY” for a government plan (equivalent to); the same benefits allowed for in the present Medicaid plan.

Are you aware that our Veterans medical care is basically equivalent to the Medicaid plan. SHAME ON AMERICA AND OUR GOVERNMENT!

Each State must have some talented people that can put this movement together. It seems only right that

our U.S. Military should have first consideration for the health care that our government officials now enjoy. Only the President and Vice President would continue to enjoy the same medical insurance they have now; that our VETERANS/MILITARY will finally start receiving

once the Addendum-Bill is passed.

This seems logical and fair, don’t you think?

I, for one, would love to see the look on all those government officials faces when they learn that the American people are working on such a plan (Addendum-Bill) with Eager-Earnest! It is long overdue! It may also encourage them to start doing their homework; Report the facts; Stop their false and misleading advertisements and speeches that they have been dishing out to the American people. These special interest groups and government officials have no business using taxpayer’s money to advertise and acquire their own self-interest; and the self-interest of those special interest lobbyists.

Afterall, We Are The People, and We are NOT Dumb.

An opinion presented by Karen McLain

So They Say 2010 is an Election Year… For 1/3 of the Senate and All of the House of Representatives…

So America, What Message Would You Like To Send Them?
IT REALLY DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

Maybe it is time, “We The People”, put all politicians on Social Security. Impossible you say. Now WHY is that? Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Perhaps you are not speaking up. Perhaps you are not voting.

Our Senators and Congress do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. They have a special plan for themselves. They voted in their own benefit plan. The plan works great for them, so WHY should they feel the need to change it.

Do you know HOW their plan works for them? Maybe it is time, “We The People”, took a good look at this benefit plan that OUR Senate, and OUR Congress, voted in for themselves many years ago.

Review the following statements and check those you know to be true, and then research those statements that you think may or may not be true:

1. ___When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. …..

2. ___Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that’s Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives. (Calculated on an average life span for each of those “Dignitaries”)

3. ___Younger “Dignitaries” who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

4. ___Their cost for this excellent plan to them is $0.00.

5. ___The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds, “OUR TAX DOLLARS”

6. ___OUR own Social Security Plan, which Taxpayers pay into every payday until retirement (which amount is matched by our employer), can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement.

7. ___We would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley’s benefits!

8. ___Social Security could be very good if, “We The People”, would VOTE to STOP the “Golden Fleece Retirement Plan” from the Senators and Congress. . .They can have the same Social Security plan with the rest of us.

9. ___If the Senate and Congress knew that, “We The People”, were ALL going to VOTE on this issue in 2010; just how fast would an effort, on their part take, for them to fix it?

10. ___The American people will do their research, and realize that just going to VOTE will give them the power to make a CHANGE.

545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common “con” regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red .
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them “con” you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

…The following appears to have been included by Charlie Reese, but I can’t be certain…
